Hello Tigres,
***PLEASE SEE THE REVISION BELOW IN BOLD ITALICS***
We had a fun introductory practice this past Wednesday. As we will be running short on practices due to VUSD days off over the next couple of weeks, I encourage our athletes to practice on their own this weekend. With our first meet being March 1st it will be wise to use this time to add to your fitness base. I strongly recommend practicing on your own this Saturday.
Sprinters: Do an easy five-minute run out and five-minute run back for a total of 10 minutes. Follow that up with 4×100 meter strides.
Distance: Complete an easy four-mile run.
Both categories please remember to include warm-ups and cool downs.
For Monday, repeat the same or join Coach Nation at Arroyo Verde Park for a light one-hour workout beginning at 4:30 pm, and ending at 5:30 pm.
Staying with the “discipline” theme of Wednesday, remember that track is not just about running, it’s about pushing your limits, overcoming obstacles, and striving for greatness. Every stride you take, every drop of sweat, and every ounce of effort brings you closer to your goals. Remember, success is not always measured by the finish line, but by the journey and the determination you show along the way.
Stay focused, stay disciplined, and never underestimate the power of your potential. When motivation wavers, let discipline guide you forward. Believe in yourself, support your teammates, and together, you’ll achieve incredible things.
Go out there, give it your all, and make every moment count! You have the heart of a champion – now, it’s time to show the world what you’re made of.
By taking advantage of these extra couple of days of disciplined practice, I look forward to seeing you all this coming Wednesday, February 12th at 4:30 pm at the Buena High School track in better shape.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Coach Brian
