Hello Parents –

Thank you to all the athletes and parents that came our for our League Finals Meet this past Saturday at Oxnard High School.  Another great day of competition where our athletes finished strong once again!

For most athletes, this was their last meet of the year.  However, we will be having our end of the year picnic on Sunday, May 6th, at the Ventura Unified School District Service Center.  This is a great time to spend an afternoon together, have some food, meet as a team and pass out team gifts, as well as any remaining ribbons.  Please see the post on the main page of the website for times, directions, and what to bring.  Bantams are responsible for desserts (enough for a dozen people).  We hope to see as many of you there as possible!

For those athletes moving on to the Championships, practice will continue this week at the same times.  Athletes will have an opportunity to work on specialty events during Mondays & Wednesdays practices, and on Thursday.  There will be no specialty practices Tuesday or Friday.  Please see my next post showing those that qualified for the Championship Meet.

Just a reminder that tomorrow’s practice will be at Arroyo Verde Park at 4:30.  We’ll be playing some games and firing up the grill for some food towards the end.  Your athlete may get a little bit wet, so be sure to pack some warmer clothes.  This will be the last practice for most of the team so we’re gonna make the most of it!

Hello Parents!

I hope you all enjoyed our evening meet this past weekend!  Thank you all for coming out, supporting your athletes, staying late, and doing your volunteer duties – without that, our meets would not happen.

I will have signups at practice today and Wednesday for this weekend’s League Finals at Oxnard High School.  This meet is open to all athletes, with the general exception of those that have qualified for the League Championships on May 5th.  Please refer to the previous post which explained the differences between the upcoming meets.  It can be confusing, so please contact me with any questions.

Once all the weekend’s results are finalized, I will be notifying those athletes that qualified to compete in the League Championships.  I will also be contacting other athletes that may not necessarily have qualified for individual events, but that we would like to compete in relay events for the League Championships, and hopefully the CCC meet.

This will be the last week of practice for most of the athletes – practice will continue for those that qualified for the League Championships.  We will be having a ‘fun’ practice on Wednesday at Arroyo Verde Park – same time – so please note the change.  I’ll put a reminder out Wednesday reminding everyone of the change.

Quick reminder about today’s meet – 3:00PM start time at Buena.  If your athlete has signed up for the 4×100 relay, please have them there no later than 2:45.  Also, it will get cool in the evening, so please be sure your athlete packs warm clothes.

Just a reminder that today is picture day – please make sure your athlete it wearing their Tigres uniform.  If they wish to wear an undershirt, please make sure it is either black or white.

Event Sign Up sheets for this weekend’s meet with Camarillo will be available at practice today.  If your athlete is not at practice or was not able to sign up, you can email or text me with their events.

Please take a look at the Final Season Meets information on the Tigres website.  Hopefully this explains the Conference Finals, Conference Championships, and the Co Conference Championship Meets.  I will be notifying those athletes that have either qualified for, or are close to qualifying for, the Conference Championships.  Please contact me with any questions about your athlete’s standing for these finals meets.

Just a friendly reminder about this weekend’s meet – if your athlete hasn’t signed up yet and plans to compete Saturday (or if you’re not sure what he/she signed up for…), please email or text me by this evening.

We host the Ojai Roadrunners at Buena.  The meet starts at 8:30AM.  If your athlete signed up for the 4×1 relay, please make sure they are on the field by 8:15.
