Newbury Park Track Club made this great document for our meet this Saturday.
Preparing for our upcoming meet Saturday, April 2, 2011
Stadium: Newbury Park High School Stadium (456 Reino Rd, Newbury Park, CA 91320)
Please direct your parents to the entrance on Reino Road. There should be ample parking for everyone. Main entrance to the stadium will be through the double gates on the South side of the stadium.
Stadium Rules:
- Open for officials at 7:00AM then for competitors and spectators at 7:45AM
- Entrance to the track area will be strictly controlled through a manned point at the West and East ends of the bleachers.
- Only athletes, coaches, and designated volunteers will be allowed on the infield.
- The center of the field can be used for athlete warm-up — stay away from the field sidelines, finish line, and track.
- 6mm needle spikes only. There will be random checks by the Meet director.
- ONLY water is allowed inside the track/field areas. All food and beverages MUST be kept off the track/field. That includes Gum and Candies!
- Please remove as much of your trash as possible or place it in the trashcans.
Meet Logistics:
- Meet Director: John Merrill, info@nptrackclub.org.
- Coaches meeting will be held promptly at 8:15AM at the Finish Line tent.
- National Anthem will be sung promptly at 8:30AM.
- 3200 and Field Events will start promptly following the National Anthem, so please ensure all athletes have their stickers and are at their first event no later than 8:30AM so we can begin on time.
- Staging: Located in the infield towards the West end of the field. We will stage athletes in order fast to fastest as specified in the VCYTC rulebook.
- Announcer: Take special care when listening from the Long Jump and Shot Put areas, as the speakers can be difficult to hear from these locations.
- Timing System: We plan to use the electronic timing and deemed FAT.
- Long Jump: We will use two runways and we will be able to run both genders in the same time.
- Shot Put: We will use one for practice throws and one for competition.
- We will follow the order of events as specified in the VCYTC rulebook…
- We will use the waterfall start for the longer distances as allowed in the VCYTC rulebook.
- Results will be posted on the Notice Board near the Snack Shack as and when they become available.
Other Items:
- Twitter: We plan to push out tweets for 3rd Calls and Current Races from twitter.com/nptrackclub
- Snack Shack: Besides all the normal snack shack junk, we plan to have Tony’s Pizza, Jersey Mike’s subs, and Jamba Juice at the meet.
- Weather: May actually be a bit sunny for a change, so make sure you and your athlete(s) have on plenty of sun screen.
